Uncharted 2 Review

Uncharted 2 is an action-adventure third person shooter platform video game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3, it was released in October 2009.

 

The game Uncharted 2 is a game made for players that enjoy action and adventure games. Uncharted is very similar to ‘Prince of Persia’ and ‘Assassins creed’, they are very similar because they all have a lot of climbing and a lot of action in them. The fun factor of Uncharted 2 is that players can choose whether they want to play on multiplayer or co-op play both are enjoyable to play. Also the story line, plot of the game is very interesting which also makes it more fun to play. For the fun factor of Uncharted 2 I would give it an 8/10.

 

The Gameplay in Uncharted 2 is that players have to; climb, jump and scale narrow ledges and wall faces to get between points. Players’ control Nathan Drake that is the main character in the game, players can pick up weapons, and ammunition from killing enemies. Some area in the game players are required to solve puzzles, players can find clues using Drake’s Journal. Also there is a multiplayer option to play, which allows other players to compete against each other or a co-operative multiplayer, which allows only three players to take the role of Drake and two other characters to do missions and objectives. For gameplay I would give Uncharted 2 an 8/10.

 

The graphics on Uncharted 2 where amazing for the year the game came out, games that are out this year still are not as good as Uncharted 2. I find the graphics is one of the most important parts in a game; Uncharted 2 uses Naughty Dog Game Engine 2.0. For the graphics I would give Uncharted 2 a 10/10.

 

The sounds in Uncharted 2 are very good they use some voice acting for the characters and when danger is close intense music comes on to warn players that there is danger close. Also when shooting it makes gunfire sound and for when getting shot the character makes different sounds. For the sounds I would give Uncharted 2 a 9/10.

 

For the replayability of Uncharted 2, there is multiplayer to play with friends and other online players. There are also DLC packs to download which features new multiplayer maps to play on. Players may not get the DLC packs because they cost a bit money and some people my not want to pay for them which can lead to players not wanting to play the game again. For replayability I would give Uncharted 2 an 8/10.

 

Overall Uncharted 2 is a good game to play due to the graphics and the plot. Also it is enjoyable for players that like action and adventure game with climbing and shooting in them. For the PROS of the game is that the graphics, plot and sounds are very good. For CONS of game is that the replayability could be better by lowering the prices of the DLC packs to allow people with not a lot of money to buy them. Overall for Uncharted 2 I would give the game a 9/10.
