Dynasty Warriors 3 Review

Dynasty Warriors is a hack and slash video game developed by Omega Force and published by Koei. The platforms it is on are the Xbox and the PlayStation 2, it has a single player and a multiplayer for players to play with friends.

Dynasty Warriors 3 is one of those games that players will enjoy not because of the graphics (they are shockingly bad) but for the gameplay, the action and the adventure within the game. I found this game enjoyable when playing it with mates and playing it for the first time; after a while it becomes one of those games that just gets boring, this is because there an nothing to bring the player back and play the game (replay ability). Saying this, the game did come out on the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox, so it is a very old video game. There is still room for improvements to make it more enjoyable and fun for players to play like adding in a survival mode. This consists of the player surviving as many rounds as they can to beat other players in the world leader board.

The sounds in this game are very repetitive, when attacking enemies there are sounds from the character and the enemies, the clashing of swords and getting hurt. There is also sounds from the characters when in the cut scene when they talk, the voices are clear to understand what they are saying but they talk for less than 2 minutes.  Apart for that there is not much to talk about the sound because there are no more. To improve on this they could add in a background tone/music in parts to show the tense parts.

The graphics in this game are terrible, but I believe this if from it being on the old generation consoles. An example of how bad the graphics on this game are: the characters in the game do not have hands I think this was done because the technology when making this game was not very good so they had to do with what they had. The game did get and award on March 6^th 2003 for the ‘Best Overall Game Animation’. Overall this games graphics were good in the year 2003 but in the year 2014 they are shocking.

The replay ability as I said is bad very bad but there is one thing that would encourage player to play the game again this is multiplayer. Multiplayer allows the player to play with friend or family members, to work together to defeat the enemies. Apart from this the player has no other reason to come back and play the game. As I also said to improve this they could add in a survival mode. This consists of the player surviving as many rounds as they can to beat other players in the world leader board.

Overall for this game the PROS of the game are: the gameplay when in multiplayer the player can play with friends and family members. The CONS of this game are: the graphics are shocking due to it being on the PlayStation and the Xbox, the sounds in there game are repetitive, there are hardly anything for the replay ability. Overall I am going to give this 4/10 ratting but I am also going to give it an 8/10 for when it came out.
