Black Ops 2 Review

Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 Review

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is a shooting the game was released on November 2012 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Microsoft Windows. The game made over $500 million in the first day of release and has sold 2.6 million copies of the game.

There is a lot of fun factor in this game, there is multiplayer to play with friends and to play against them in an online mode. Also there is the single player campaign to see what the story of Black Ops 2 is about. There is also a game mode called zombies this mode is set for players to try and survive though rounds killing zombies and getting better weapons. I really like playing zombies because I can play with my friends and with other players to get higher up the leader board to become the best. I also like the online multiplayer from ranking up unlocking better weapons and attachments. Overall I found this game to be very enjoyable I don’t think there are any improvements to make on this game.

The gameplay in these game it to shooting, running and taking cover, in online multiplayer players will have objects to do like in ‘Domination’ players have to capture the flag and defend it from the enemies. In the campaign players take the role of ‘David Mason’ tracking down a terrorist that killed his farther. The game is set as a 1st person shooter game, when players are getting shot there is visual feedback on the screen, it shows where they are getting shot from and also players controller will vibrate if they are on PlayStation3 or Xbox 360. I like the way players can choose whether they want to play on the campaign, zombies or multiplayer.

The graphics on this game are amazing the game was one of the best games for their graphics and gameplay in 2012. The game uses photo-realism for the graphical styles to make it look as realistic as possible. The characters in the game look really well designed as the same as the guns when playing the game the area/map looks as if it is a really place and the guns look so realistic that you would think that they are real but some of them have been made up like the ‘Peacekeeper’. I think that the graphics are really good I wouldn’t change anything and there is not anything to improve on.

The sounds on this game are also really good there are sound effects from the guns when reloading and shooting; there are sounds from explosions from grenades etc and there is also there is music on the main menu screen. The voices from the characters are clear so players can hear them easily. I think overall the sounds on the game are really good part from I think there is too much sounds in the game but if they were not in the game then it would not be as realistic.

For the replayability there is the multiplayer option and the zombies mode option to challenge friends. There is DLC pack that players can download which include of four new multiplayer maps and one new zombies map. This is good because it encourages players to keep on playing the game but the DLC packs do cost abit of money some players that don’t have the money will not buy them. Overall the game has a lot of things for players to keep on playing the game over and over again so the replayability is really good on Black Ops 2.

Overall Call of Duty Black Ops2 is a really good game to play and I would recommend it to players that enjoy playing shooting and realistic games. The PROS in this game are that the graphics and gameplay are amazing also players can get DLC packs to keep them playing. The CONS are very slim in this game but in there is a lot of sound effects in the game which effects it when playing because if you hear you foot steps though the whole game then is get abit frustrating. Overall for Black Ops 2 I would give it a rating of 10/10.

Ecco The Dolphin Review

Ecco the Dolphin Review

Ecco the Dolphin is an action and adventure game originally developed by Novotrade International for the Mega Drive, and published by Sega in 1992. It was republished in 2006 on Nintendo’s Virtual Console, Xbox Live Arcade, Steam and on the iOS App Store.

Fun Factor
Ecco the Dolphin was very addictive, I started playing and I just would not come off. There is not much to do on the game but there are objects that need to be find or destroyed to get to the next level, it is also fun to control the dolphin swimming around eating fish and dodging enemies. Considering it is any old game, the year it came out it was very popular and was very fun to play.

Gameplay
The player controls the dolphin dodging Jellyfish, starfish etc, if the dolphin gets hurt and some health has come off then by eating fish the health will regenerate. The player has to keep on doing up for air as the dolphin needs it, if the air bar runs out then the dolphin will start to loose health. The player can use the speak button to talk to whales, other dolphins, etc to ask for help what to do next or just to talk to them and the player can attack the enemies by speeding it to them. I found the gameplay was the same over and over again so I did find it abit boring. Overall the gameplay is not that good but it was made in 1992 so it was good for when it came out.

Sounds
There are sounds from the dolphin when talking it makes squeaking sound like what dolphins make, there is also sounds when attacking enemies and banging into things. There is music at the main menu screen it suits the game very much from it being gentle music. Overall there is not really that much sound effects of this game. The game could add in sounds from the waves crashing up against walls.

Graphics
The graphics on this game are not very good at all for the year 2013 but in 1992 this was one of the best games for graphics. The game is viewed from the side and is set in 2D so it is a very basic game. The design on the dolphin and n the other fishes are ok not the best but they were made in 1992. For next time the game could be in 3D to make it more realistic.

Replayability
There is not much for replayability there is no multiplayer and no DLC packs to download and add thing on to the game. Personally I would not play the game again but when you first start playing the game it is very addictive but as soon as you come off the game for about ten minutes then you will find that you wont want to play it again. Overall the replayability is not very good, the game can improve this by adding in more level using the DLC packs.

Overall this game was good in its time (1992) but now it is just a bad game. The PROS in this game are that the graphics were very good in its time and the same with the sound effects. The CONS in the game are that it doesn’t have any DLC packs to encourage players to play again and the gameplay is the same over and over again dodging and hit thing to get though the levels. Overall I am giving the game a rating of 4/10 for the year 2013 but for when it came out I am giving it a 8/10.

Beyond Two Souls Review

Beyond Two Souls Review

Beyond Two Souls is an interactive drama action-adventure game developed by Quantic Dream a French developer. The actors in the game are Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe, it was first released on the 8th October 2013 in North America, and the game was only for PlayStation. Also Beyond Two Souls sold 160,000 copies in the first week of its release.

Beyond Two Souls is very enjoyable to play but most of the game is made up of cut scenes. Also players can choose when to use the souls in side Jodie (the main character) that is called Aiden, which can control people, kill people or can move objects. I still think that the game is very like a movie; they could of added in more gameplay to make it more like a game instead of a movie. However I like the way payers can choose what directions to go in, they could choose one way which would take them in one direction or choose another way which would take them in another.

The story in this game is about Jodie the main character and the player goes back and forth though her lifetime. Jodie has a sprit in side of her, which she cannot control at first but Nathan and Cole the two doctors teach her and help her to control the sprit. She wants break the chain between her and the sprit. Jodie get taken to got and work with the CIA to use her powers to help them do missions that normal people cannot do, but she finds out that she has been lied to and runs away. The CIA give Jodie an offer to do one last job for them and she will be let free to do what ever she wants. After the job the player chooses whether Jodie's new life is alone, with her homeless friends, with the Native Americans, or with Ryan.

I found that there is not very much gameplay in this game it is made up of small scene. I found this made the game more like a movie then a game. The parts that were gameplay were really fun by being able to control Aiden that could kill, control people and nock over objects and also being able to use Jodie. The bad thing about the gameplay is that there was not enough of but when there was gameplay it was very enjoyable.

The graphics on this game are fantastic they look so realistic. The game uses Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe’s face features in the game to make the characters look like the actors as much as possible and they look just like them. The graphical style is photo-realistic. I think the graphics in this game are amazing the game has got to be one of the best for graphics. There is not really a bad point bout the graphics because they are that good.

The sounds in the game come from the background music, which fits in perfectly with the surrounding areas, the sounds effects when danger is close or when using Aiden and when using the powers that Aiden can use make a cool sound effect to show that the player is using the powers. I think the sounds used in this game are really good I don’t think that there could be any improvements.

For the replayability in this game there are four different ending, so this will encourage players to play again to complete each different ending. Also there is different object that can be looked and different paths that will send players in different directions to when they played before. This is the same with speaking to people as well, by saying something different will change what happens next. I think this game is really good with the replayability from being able to do four different endings, but players may find the game boring because it is a lot like a movie with the amount of cut scene in it.

Overall the game was good fun to play I would definitely play the game again, I found the game to be very interesting and enjoyable to watch and play. The positives in this game are being able to choose different paths to go on, which make it a good game for replayability. The negatives for this game are that it is very like a movie, players are constantly watching the game instead of playing it.

Review On Space Marine

Review on Space Marine

On the 6th September 2011 a game called Space Marine was first released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and developed by Relic Entertainments. The publishers of Space Marine made a demo n the Xbox 360 and on PC on August 23, 2011, then for PlayStation 3 later on. The demo was very good and encouraged lots more people to buy the game, the game has sold over 1.2million copies.

I found when playing the game with friends and also on my own to be real fun and exciting by finding collectables and blowing aliens up. The game is very goy game. I didn’t really enjoy playing this game just because I thought it a copy of Gears of War and also I did not like that it was in 3rd person, I am more of a 1st person game type of person. If people like 3rd person games then I recommend is for them. The things that I found fun were being able to pick up better weapons also being able to us a sword, a gun and kicking aliens.

The story in this game is about an alien (Orks) invading the Forge World Garia which is a planet devoted to military production. The three Ultramarines have come from another planet to defend and stop the aliens for getting the towering war machine that can destroy cities. I find this story to be very unrealistic but very interesting to play. The gameplay in this game, players can use different kinds of weapons from swords to guns. They can find best weapons and upgrades as the game goes on, the game is set as a 3rd person point of view. The character has regenerative abilities e.g when his health gets low, performing some actions can allow him to regain a portion of his health. There is a health bar on the top of the players screen to show weather the player is low on health or not, there is also a bar showing how much ammo you have, this is show on the right hand side. I did not really enjoy playing this game as I am not a big fan on 3rd person games but overall the gameplay is enjoyable.

The graphics on this game are very good, there were some problems with the graphics at first lots of players have graphics errors on the game but now have been fixed. I really like how Relic Entertainments did the gory parts in the game all most look as it was real e.g when shooting the aliens, the blood coming out of them look very realistic. Also the detail on the Ultramarines armor look extremely good, overall the graphics look amazing and look very realistic.

For the sounds in the game like the voices and the alien noises, I didn’t think they were that good just because the sounds where the same in the battle zones the characters would just say the same thing over and over again the only time they would say something different would be in the cut scenes. Overall the sound effects from the gunshots, the sword slashes and noises from the characters and the aliens are good.

I don’t think I would play this game again, because it seemed to be the same though out the game. For the replay ability there is collectables in the campaign to find, and players can get achievements set in the game. There is different abilities to use on the character there is a multiplayer game mode to play online against/with other players or friends. There is also downloadable content (DLC) that can be downloaded for multiplayer like maps and weapons. Overall the replay ability is good I have not tried the multiplayer yet but some players have said that it is good fun.

Overall the game is fun to play if you like 3rd person and like a bit blood and gory in the gameplay. The positives in this game are the replay ability is good as well as the story. The negatives for this game are that the sound effects in the game are pretty much the same all the way though and that there have been problems with the game like the graphics. Overall I am giving the game a 7/10.
